Led By Adlai Stein
Using the forge, tongs & hammer in addition to basic grinding and hardening techniques you’ll learn how to forge a Curved Blade when you make this knife from high carbon steel. In this one night class you’ll make a functional knife perfect for chopping herbs and decorative handle out of one piece of steel.
To start this project you will draw out the handle and forge your blade. Once you’re happy with the shape we will help you finish your chopper by showing you how to grind the face of the blade and harden to better keep an edge. A combination of basic bladesmithing and blacksmithing skills make this a great class for beginners.
We are going to be working with temperatures in excess of 1800 degrees Fahrenheit and tools like grinders that could be dangerous if your not cautious. Please wear natural fiber clothing and closed toed shoes. Also bring safety glasses if you have them or you may use ours.
